Why some abandoned cart emails are not sent?

In order for an abandoned cart to be considered recoverable, some conditions must be met:

  1. There must be an actual abandoned cart 
  2. There must be an email address on which we can contact the customer
  3. The customer must not return to complete the purchase before we send the email. If they do, we don't send the abandoned cart email because they completed the purchase.

We also try to capture emails from visitors even if they do not abandon a cart. If they leave (even without touching the products), we still log their email address along with real abandoned carts here.
