Stops in workflows

Stops force the customer to leave the workflow if they take a certain action. When that happens, they will no longer receive emails or be part of any segments for future parts of the workflow.

Stop Types

  • Stop on product review
  • Stop on new purchase
  • Stop on feedback
  • Stop on new subscription
  • Stop on coupon use

What is "Re-check throughout Workflow" on Stops?

You can use this on any of the stops on the workflow, which means that when this option is checked, you can reduce the amount of stops needed in a workflow. It begins to take effect from the moment the customer goes through it. 

So if you put it immediately after the trigger, everyone who goes through the trigger will have their workflow re-checked and stopped if they meet the criteria. If you place it on one branch of a segment split, only those who are part of that segment will have their workflow re-check and stopped in their meet the criteria.

Example 1

In this example, when Re-check throughout Workflow is checked on the stop, if any customer who enters the workflow reviews the product at any point in the workflow, they won't receive any more emails.

Example 2

In this example, when Re-check throughout Workflow is checked on the stop, only contacts who are a prospect at the point of entering the stop condition will have their workflow rechecked. Anyone who falls into the "Everyone else" segment will not.

Stops criteria

Stop on product review

Only for purchase-related triggers. Can't be used with the triggers: List is Subscribed & Date in Customer Property Reached.

You can choose to limit stopping the workflow to the following:

  • On any product review (default)
  • When any product in their Workflow's Order is reviewed
  • When every product in this Workflow's Order is reviewed

Stop on new purchase

Can be used with all triggers.

You can choose to limit stopping the workflow to the following:

  • Only on certain products 
  • Only on certain collections
  • Only on certain collections and products

Stop on feedback

Only for purchase-related triggers. Can't be used with the triggers: List is Subscribed & Date in Customer Property Reached.

You can choose to limit stopping the workflow to the following:

  • Only this order

Stop on new subscription

Can be used with all triggers.

You can choose to limit stopping the workflow to the following:

  • Only specific lists

Stop on coupon use

Can be used with all triggers.

You can choose to limit stopping the workflow to the following:

  • Only coupons sent from this Workflow
