Overview

If you have a Google Analytics account set up for your website, you can track incoming traffic from email sent.

It takes seconds to enable the Google Analytics integration from your Conversio Profile page. After you switch it on, all new Conversio emails (receipts, follow up emails, and abandoned cart emails) will automatically include Google Analytics tags appended to links for the domains you want to track.

Setup

This is a quick two-step process:

  • Go to your Profile page.
  • Scroll to the Google Analytics Tracking and flick the “On” switch.

Tracking Information

Below is the tracking information we'll add to your links.

Note that campaign titles are lowercased and hyphenated. For example, "First-time Buyers" becomes "first-time-buyers".

Receipts

  • utm_medium: receipt
  • utm_source: receiptful
  • utm_campaign: The title of the template, e.g. "first-time-buyers" or "default" for the default template

The utm_content parameter will contain:

  • Discount Upsell: discount_upsell
  • Shipping Upsell: shipping_upsell
  • Refer-A-Friend: referral
  • Feedback: feedback
  • Similar Products: recommended_products
  • Any other links: other

Follow Up Emails

  • utm_medium: follow_up
  • utm_source: receiptful
  • utm_campaign: The title you specified for your follow-up campaign or template.

The utm_content parameter will contain:

  • Discount Upsell: discount_upsell
  • Shipping Upsell: shipping_upsell
  • Refer-A-Friend: referral
  • Feedback: feedback
  • Similar Products: recommended_products
  • Any other links: other

Abandoned Cart Emails

  • utm_medium: abandoned_cart
  • utm_source: receiptful
  • utm_campaign: The title you specified for your abandoned cart campaign.
