Overview

For each Newsletter email you set up, you can select a customer segment to target, or a list, or both.

Don't worry about overlapping customers, i.e. falling into different segments or lists. We will not send the same customer the same e-mail twice. 

You will be prompted to select segments and lists once you click "Create a Newsletter".

Segments

All Customers: This applies to all of your customers.

First-Time Buyers: Customers who have made exactly one purchase in your store.

Repeat Customers: Any customer that has made two or more purchases.

Active Repeat Customers: Customers who have made two or more purchases, and the time since their last order is less than the average repeat purchase time (for your store).

"At-Risk" Repeat Customers: Customers who have made two or more purchases, and the time since their last order is more than the average repeat purchase time (for your store), but less than 3X the average repeat purchase time.

"Inactive" Repeat Customers: Customers who have made two or more purchases, and the time since their last order is more than 3X the average repeat purchase time (for your store).

"Prospects": Individuals who subscribed to Newsletters.

Custom Segments: 

You can create custom segments with a variety of criteria such as product purchased, geographic region, or last email open. Here's a video tutorial on Custom Segments.

Note that you can also create one-off segments for when you only need a segment for one Campaign, and don't want to save it or clutter your list with several temporarily-used segments.

Lists


Lists are different from segments, your customer lists are uploaded by you with the customer import tool, or added automatically through our Subscription Forms.
