When setting up your Follow-Up Campaigns, you can decide how many emails to set within each Campaign sequence. This number can be one, or more, up to virtually unlimited.

When setting a campaign that contains multiple emails, it's best to set all of them to the same Customer Segment and the same Send Event. Therefore the Delay (After Days; number of days) would be the only difference between all emails within a single campaign.

Every Purchase

This Follow-Up trigger is linked to a specific purchase and can be triggered X many days after the purchase.

Example(s) of the use case for this email:

  • This is the perfect email to send if you’d like to maximize the engagement about a specific purchase.
  • If you have not included a Feedback module in your receipt, we’ve seen great results asking for feedback in a Follow Up email on day 3 after purchase.
  • Use this email alongside our conditional logic to remind your repeat customers of your referral program, incentivizing your most loyal customers to tell their friends about your store.

Every Purchase Without Feedback

This Follow-Up trigger is linked to a specific purchase and can be triggered X many days after the purchase on the condition that no feedback had been received from the user yet. If the original receipt linked to this specific purchase included a Feedback module and the customer had already left feedback, they will not receive this email.

Example(s) of the use case for this email:

  • Use this email if you included the Feedback module in your receipt, but never got feedback from the customer before.

Note: this follow up rule will only work if you have activated Conversio receipt emails.

Reminder of Unused Coupon

This Follow Up trigger is linked to a single purchase and can be sent if the original receipt for that purchase included a Discount upsell. This email will trigger 24 hours before a discount coupon is about to expire.

Example(s) of the use case for this email:

  • Use this email if you are including a Discount upsell in your receipt. This is a fantastic way to maximize the impact of the discounts you are offering.

Note: this follow up rule will only work if you have activated Conversio receipt emails.

Latest Purchase

This Follow-Up trigger is linked to a specific customer’s last purchase date and will be triggered X many days after that last purchase date.

Example(s) of the use case for this email:

  • Use this email if you’d like to engage with a customer that you haven’t seen for a while. This is best used when you determine your average repeat purchase rate and then re-connecting with your customers on that date i.e. 67 days after their last purchase.

First Purchase

This Follow-Up trigger is linked to a specific customer’s first purchase date and will be triggered X many days after that first purchase date.

Example(s) of the use case for this email:

  • This is the perfect anniversary-type email i.e. “Your first purchase with us was exactly one year ago!” or “You have now been our customer for 5 years. Thanks so much!”
  • Include any kind of incentive to celebrate this milestone with your customer(s).

Customer is Idle

This Follow-Up trigger is linked to a specific customer’s date of becoming idle and will be triggered X many days after they became idle. We calculate the date for becoming idle as 3x the average rate at which customers currently make repeat purchases. Here’s an example:

If the average customer makes a purchase every 60 days, the becoming idle window will be 180 days.
If Customer A’s last purchase was on 1 January 2015, their becoming idle date would be 180 days later (so approximately 6 months / on 1 July 2015).

Example(s) of the use case for this email:

  • This is the perfect email to re-engage customers that you’ve not seen in a while.
  • Use product recommendations to help these customers discover products that have been released since their last purchase or just other products that might interest them as well.

Instantly on First Purchase

This Follow-Up trigger will be sent immediately after the user’s first purchase i.e. when they first become a customer.

Example(s) of the use case for this email:

  • This is the perfect email to make a personal connection with a new customer and tell them more about who you are as a company / team and what your values are.
  • You could also use this email to send them other resources which they might find helpful. Perhaps it’s a ebook about how to best use your products or link them to your social profiles, where they can follow you.

  • For WooCommerce, the order status needs to be Completed.
